  Tips For A Successful Fundrasier                                                                                                                   

1.Determine your group purpose

·      Introduce yourself, your group, your goal, and the organization’s PURPOSE. (this is essential)

 

2.Establish clear monetary goals and firm deadlines.

·      Identify what you need.

·      Pick and set your ideal amount.

·      This needs to be clear and attainable, no ambiguity or outlandish goals, it should be carefully considered.

 

3. Determine how long it will take or how much time that you have.

·      Shorter time periods usually stimulate more momentum.

·      You don’t want to drag it out.

·      Set the date and stick to it! (This date should be clearly advertised and available to all fundraisers.)

·      Use this goal date to motivate and stimulate momentum.

 

4. Motivate Teamwork:

·      If you are a school:

·      Set individual class goals. As well as school goal.

·      Small incentives for class who reaches goal first.

            -Talk to your account manager for ideas.

·      Inspire competition but ALWAYS, ALWAYS remember your ultimate group goal and purpose.

 

5. Know COMPASSION IT Bracelet

·      Global Social Movement that inspires daily compassionate actions across the globe.

·      Fundraisers should be informed about the importance of spreading compassion and what it can do for humanity.

·      Include link to Compassion It text video.

·      Show Carrie Hope Fletcher Video and Map of Global Compassion It Activity.

 

6. Make your message CLEAR

·      WHO are you fundraising for?

·      WHAT are you fundraising for?

·      WHEN is your goal date?

·      WHERE is your organization?

·      HOW much are you trying to raise?

 

7. Advertise your fundraiser

·      Local Radio Stations (Press Letter Template)

·      Community Papers

·      School Newsletters

·      Religious Organization Newsletters

·      Work with account manager to think of something creative and relevant.

·      Skype Session with the organization you’re helping.

·      Class gets to take % of the money they raised to donate toward their favorite cause.

 

Create a checklist of questions to ask organization’s representative to help them set their goals and inspire action steps.

·      Prompt them through their planning process.

·      Know what to tell them to ‘write down,’ help them create their list of steps to take.

·      Empower them and inspire them to take action.

·      Account manager is responsible for keeping them accountable via email, Google hangout, phone calls etc.

 

Create a spreadsheet to enter information about the organizations goals, deadlines, things that are important to keep them accountable.
